At En Route Pet Transportation, your family is our family. Yes, that certainly includes your pets. Pets are family to us and are always treated as such. Your dog is never without your transport team for the entire duration of the trip. That’s right! Your dog will stay in nice hotel rooms with us and will usually sleep on the bed with us, too. If we were transporting our dog, we’d be worried and constantly wondering how he/she is doing. We understand that and will keep you updated the entire time! It’s pretty common to have some questions when your asking someone to transport a family member long distances. Here are answers to a few of our most frequently asked questions.
Will you let me know how my dog is doing?
Our Private Transport will be a smooth and loving experience for both you and your dog. We love our dogs too and understand, deeply, how concerned you may feel. Because of this we will take great measures to maximize the level of comfort and communication between us, you, and your dog.

Are there any requirements for me to transport my dog?
Yes.
A health certifiate, issued by a licensend veterinarian, and within 10 days from the departure date, must provided to us. This is a USDA requirement and necessary.
What do I need to pack for my dog?
Necessary
- Enough food for the duration of the trip. We advise that you pack enough food for a couple days more than the expected duration, in case there are any delays.
- Collar with tags showing the name of the dog and your contact information.
Optional (we always have our own that we clean and use.)
- Food and water bowls
- Treats
- Toys
- Blankets
- Anything familiar that may help them feel more comfortable.
How far in advance must I book my transport?

Do you transport puppies?
Yes, we certainly do and agree that Private Transport is the best way to transport them. At early and critical stages of their development, you want make sure they are surrounded with positive experiences.
Can you transport cross-country?
Yes, we frequently travel across the country to transport dogs.
Will my pet be transported in a van?
No. With Private Transport, we take our personal vehicles that are constantly being maintained by ASE certified mechanics. This will give your dog the most luxurious, safe, happy, and healthy experience offered in our industry.
I'm a worry-bug. Will I be able to know where my dog is?
Absolutely! We’re no different than you. We share your concerns and it is why we go to such great lengths to make sure that your experience, as well as your dog’s experience, is so smooth.
After your transport has been booked, we will build an itinerary, for you, that will contain our route plans and as well as the exact hotels we will be staying in. During the journey, we will update you at every stop with pictures, videos, and GPS location data. This will never leave you wondering where your dog is or how they are doing. You’ll feel as if you’re making the trip with us, without actually having to do so.
Does my dog stay in a van overnight?
Never. Your dog is our family and we treat him/her as such. Your dog will go with us everywhere. That includes in the rooms of the nice dog-friendly hotels we stay at. Your dog will probably be sleeping in the bed with us too!
In addition, we do not use vans for Private Transport. We take our very nice, well-kept, and maintained personal vehicles. We couldn’t call this a luxurious experience without it, right?!
